Famous for the dynamic competition among processional floats, and for the elegant, powerful lion dance.
A total six floats from Higashinocho, Miyamotocho, Nakanocho, and Nishinocho in Oshio Town, Himeji City, and Nishihama and Kitawaki in Kitahama Town, Takasago City take part in the procession, and a total eight lions from the six districts represented by the floats,
plus Ushitani in Kitahama Town, Takasago City, and Kobayashi in Bessho Town, Himeji City, take part in the lion dance.
Oshio’s lion is a kejishi with a mane, unlike the usual kagurajishi lions. It is also unique for its flamboyant dance, which represents a lion in the wild.
